School Membership

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), the professional association for high school and middle school athletic directors and administrators, is partnering with the NASPAA to promote the NASPAA School Membership Program.

Many schools have more than one announcer, but due to budget limitations are not able to afford training and education for that school's announcers.  The NASPAA School Membership Program enables high schools and middle schools to become members of the NASPAA for one low fee of $69.

An NASPAA school membership is for one year and includes six memberships, which can only be used for that school's announcers, substitute announcers, student announcers or faculty. One membership is designated for the athletic director. Each of the school's individual members will receive all the NASPAA membership benefits.

Additionally, each school that registers will receive a copy of The Voice Above the Crowd, the NASPAA's announcing manual.  Accompanying the manual is a 34-minute CD that addresses key points about sports public address announcing, and includes announcements demonstrating the proper and improper way of announcing.  The value of the manual and CD is $24.90.

The school's individual members also receive a 25% discount on the NASPAA P.A. Announcers' Online Certification Course.  The registration fee for members is $70.  The fee for school members would be $52.50.

Testimonials

"The NASPAA School Membership Program is a tremendous opportunity for schools to provide their announcers access to education and training, as well as professional development.  We all know the important role our P.A. announcers play in promoting a positive and safe environment.  The face we put on our events is largely determined by the voice we put behind on the mic.  Therefore, we need to make sure that these individuals know their role and how to properly perform their duties, including dealing with emergency situations.  For these reasons and many more, all schools would be well served to join the NASPAA."

"The Eastern Lebanon County School District became a member of the NASPAA to provide our public address announcers with a legitimate P.A. announcing resource. As an athletic director, I am always looking for ways that I can help my staff do their jobs better. Like most athletic directors, I want to make sure that our announcers are competent, prepared and professional. This is why we have renewed our membership. There's no question that other schools would benefit from membership, too. For the money, it's truly a bargain."
